The Big Move

Internal Operation Head Alex Chao talks about Care Caravan’s big move, literally

Ingress. That was the word of the day. On July 26, 2014, Care Caravan moved in to its new place on Road 15, Project 8, Quezon City. What was planned to be just a warehouse is now our headquarters, complete with a working landline. The former warehouse was in Plaridel Street which we had for one story-filled year. And I believe many of you were part of those stories. But just like in any story, change in setting comes sooner or later.

As with any move, there were a few adjustments. One is the need for several truckloads to haul’ everything. Another challenge is how to fit all the goods to a now smaller warehouse. Still another, is clearing enough space for hired workers and volunteers to pack rice and relief packs. I remember having to had rice delivered in 30-sack batches in order to make use of the limited space. Today, after seven months since the ingress, and having dispatched much of our goods to Cebu, Legazpi, Samar, and most recently to 1000 families who live inside the Manila North Cemetery, Care Caravan is now truly adjusted and cozy in its new headquarters.

Thank you, donors, volunteers, and workers. Thank you, our dear Giver of all good things who does not change through our changing places.
